The Web To the Rescue

Wired Magazine
has an interesting article about websites helping Katrina victims get
their lives back together.  The most interesting one is Scipionus,
which uses Google Maps to allow people to post notes about the status
of various areas in New Orleans (like, “lots of fallen trees here,
fairly dry”).  It's pretty intense, and extremely dense.  You
have to zoom in pretty far before it's usable.

I am a little worried about taking up too much bandwidth on the site
from those who need it, so it may not have been a good idea for Wired
to post the address…
